The LaClare Family Creamery: A ‘Cheesy’ Good Time!

On our last trip to Wisconsin, we took a detour off the beaten path to see goats! After a way too short trip to Door County Wisconsin with my mom and sister, we took the long way home, ensuring a goat stop at the LaClare Family Creamery. It is an Instagrammers paradise that includes a Cheese Shop, Cafe, & Goat Farm.

The LaClare Family Creamery did not just have goats, but they also offered a shop with ice cream, cheese, and other fun items. On top of all the shops and the goat pens, it is also a working farm, and they offer tours. Even without going on a tour, you get a glimpse into some of the processes of cheese making which is fascinating.

Granted, we were mostly there for the goats! The goats cracked us up as they nibbled at their fence. Personally, my favorite was the donkey who was just kickin’ it back with the goats. My sister who absolutely adores goats was in 7th heaven!

The three of us had gotten there late in the day at around 4 pm, as they close at 5 pm. So, we made sure to quickly see it all. Which also meant getting ice cream from their shop.

Ice Cream Samples from the LaClare Family Creamery

They had both ice cream made from cow’s milk and goat’s milk. Luckily, we were able to sample a few flavors!

I of course tried the vanilla goat milk ice cream. It was absolutely delicious! However, I could not justify getting vanilla ice cream when they had other unique and great flavors like German Chocolate Cake (from cow’s milk).

The three of us got a single scoop, which was a nice sample size. Plus, it only sets you back $5. If you ask me, it is well worth the price. If you’re hungry I would definitely recommend upgrading to a second scoop though!

Although there was indoor seating available, we felt as if we were in a time crunch, which meant we took the ice cream outside and continued to explore the grounds.

Ultimately, we ended up dining with the goats! As we were eating our ice cream, we watched the goats chow down on their food.

Getting outside came with some other benefits as well. On top of being a fun place to get your goat on the creamery has a flat-out gorgeous backdrop. Situated just off Lake Winnebago the creamery has gorgeous views of Wisconsin’s, slow, rolling hills. Plus, Pipe Creek runs right through the property.

Overall, I would definitely say that the LaClare Family Creamery deserves a spot on your fall bucket list!
